I do appreciate the response to this , and I also thank you Bro. Norm for taking time to reply. While I can see where one would most certainly become confused on this issue the Bible is very clear that one a believer has come into Christ he cannot loose his salvation. Yes , it is true I am a believe in “Once saved , always saved” I believe salvatino is a gift and once given God would not take it back. Let me first address a quote given in the above response Bro. Norm states ” The “question” asks for specific verses of what sins will cause one to loose their salvation. I could also ask for a specific list of what sins a person can be guilty of and still be saved. What verses would the skeptic provide for me in that case? Where, in the word of God, would he go to show me that a person can be guilty of sin and still be saved? There is no such passage. Rather, he would have to go to Calvin’s “Institutes,” or some other denominational creed book, to find such unscriptural heresy!” I find this to simply be another tactical move of the Church of Christ. To ask of a list of sins and asked if you can still be saved would make no sense because I find in scripture that once once is saved they cannot loose it. The questions is submitted unto Bro. Norm and I am curious to know as to what the answer is. Let us also view the circular reasoning of a Church of Christ. You guys state “One must be baptized in order to receive remissions of sins.” you guys also state as you did Bro. Norm ” A saved beliver CAN become lost again.” …. now if a one is baptized FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS (Acts 2:38 you would use) and becomes lost again …. must they be baptized again in order to have sins forgiven a second time? ….. if not then your reasoning fails logic …. and if you say no then please cite Book , chpt. and verse. I believe it was Paul in Eph 4:5 who said there is only ONE baptism. So , therefore what must one do a second time to receive this remission? …. I find it tough to say one can loose there salvation. You may ask “Well , if they are saved and then go back out in there sin and live as the world… then they have lost it.” NO! they never had it!! (1 John 2:4) if there is NO change then dear friends there is no Jesus Christ. Can salvation be lost? Once a person is saved are they always saved? When people come to know Christ as their Savior, they are brought into a relationship with God that guarantees their salvation as eternally secure. Numerous passages of Scripture declare this fact. (a) Romans 8:30 declares, “And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.” This verse tells us that from the moment God chooses us, it is as if we are glorified in His presence in heaven. There is nothing that can prevent a believer from one day being glorified because God has already purposed it in heaven. Once a person is justified, his salvation is guaranteed – he is as secure as if he is already glorified in heaven.

    (b) Paul asks two crucial questions in Romans 8:33-34 “Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? No one will, because Christ is our advocate. Who will condemn us? No one will, because Christ, the One who died for us, is the one who condemns. We have both the advocate and judge as our Savior.

    (c) Believers are born again (regenerated) when they believe (John 3:3; Titus 3:5). For a Christian to lose his salvation, he would have to be un-regenerated. The Bible gives no evidence that the new birth can be taken away. (d) The Holy Spirit indwells all believers (John 14:17; Romans 8:9) and baptizes all believers into the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13). For a believer to become unsaved, he would have to be “un-indwelt” and detached from the Body of Christ.

    (e) John 3:15 states that whoever believes in Jesus Christ will “have eternal life.” If you believe in Christ today and have eternal life, but lose it tomorrow, then it was never “eternal” at all. Hence if you lose your salvation, the promises of eternal life in the Bible would be in error. (f) For the most conclusive argument, I think Scripture says it best itself, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). Remember the same God who saved you is the same God who will keep you. Once we are saved we are always saved. Our salvation is most definitely eternally secure!

    Further reading :

“For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not His saints; they are preserved forever. . .” (Ps. 37:28).

“The Lord. . .will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom. . .” (2 Tim. 4:18).

For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. . .” (Ps. 95:7).

“My sheep hear My voice. . .and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand” (John 10:27-28).

“Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 24).

In conclusion, The practical effects produced by this doctrine in the life of the believer are not as the objector claims. It is often suggested by the objectors that belief in the doctrine of eternal security is equal to having a license to live in sin. Nothing could be more opposed to Scripture, and the experience of a regenerate heart. The Scriptures provide the sincere seeker of truth with many an answer to this Arminian absurdity, but in this treatise we note only one, and this one should serve to shut the mouth of every would-be gainsayer, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein?” (Rom. 6:1, 2). The blood of Christ shed for the elect has eternally nullified the condemning power of sin against them, and God ever stands ready to forgive the sins of His regenerate children (1 John 1:9), but shall we that are bought with so great a price take advantage of God’s long-suffering and continue in sin? The Scriptural answer is an emphatic, NO, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. . .” (1 John 2:1).

Remember, it is God’s ability that keeps the saint, and not his own will or strength. And it is trust in God’s almighty ability that makes the victory experientially sure for the saint in his present spiritual warfare. He that has tasted and learned that the Lord is gracious (1 Pet. 2:3) has embarked upon the road of continuous sanctification, and the effect produced is abhorrence of sin and an ever increasing spiritual maturity (Rom. 12:1, 2; Phil. 1:6). They which correctly understand this God exalting doctrine never contend for the preservation of those who consistently cultivate evil, and those which use this doctrine to support themselves in a low standard of Christian conduct are, I fear, damnably deceived.

    ~God Bless~
